Terry Brisk murder remains unsolved after 10 years; reward increases to $50,000

MORRISON COUNTY — The reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Terry Brisk’s killer has increased to $50,000 as the unsolved case reaches its tenth anniversary. Morrison County Sheriff Shawn Larsen announced the increase from $30,000 on November 6, 2026, renewing a request for anyone with information to come forward.
Terrence “Terry” Virgil Brisk, 41, was killed on November 7, 2016, while deer hunting on his parents’ property near Little Falls. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension’s unsolved-homicide bulletin says he was found dead in a wooded area after being shot with his hunting rifle. Investigators recovered the rifle months later at a different location.
The sheriff’s office says evidence indicates the shooter was close to Brisk and that the two likely interacted before the killing. Investigators continue reviewing tips, pursuing leads and examining evidence. The agency said the investigation remains active, although it is withholding specific investigative details. Authorities are asking people to reconsider information they may have dismissed as unimportant years ago.
No arrests have been made, according to FOX 9’s November 7 report. Brisk’s family also issued a new appeal, describing a decade of unanswered questions and asking witnesses, anyone carrying information about the killing and the person responsible to come forward. The family said learning what happened would help them find some peace.
An earlier investigative appeal concerned a blue van or minivan that may have been near the hunting property on the day Brisk died. In a March 2022 release, the sheriff’s office called it a vehicle of interest. That release placed the wooded property in Belle Prairie Township, about eight miles northeast of Little Falls, northwest of Hawthorne and Jewel roads.
Anyone with information should contact the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office at [320-632-9233](tel:3206329233). Anonymous information can be submitted through Crime Stoppers of Minnesota. The announced $50,000 reward requires information leading to both an arrest and a conviction.
